The making of the Zakladkus packaging

Preparing a backdrop for the bookmarks. First round.

It looks crude. Redefining proportions and shuffling the bookmarks around.

Preparing an illustration.

The straight-forward approach is the best: a book image as the background clearly communicate the object’s purpose and mode d’emploi.

Now we need to make the “title page” look like a title page. Say, a book’s author is Zakladkus Strelkus and the edition’s called Five Bookmarks With Magnetic Surface.

Better yet, use a two-layer card stock with perforation for the packaging which will snuggly house the bookmarks, preventing them from shifting around.

Art director: It’s unnecessarily expensive.

Ditching the perforation, painting background in different colors for instant identification.

Polishing the details and making the final corrections.

Done.
