The making of the Yandex spring theme

Client: Why don’t you draw us a spring theme?

Designer: OK. You’ve got many themes already, we’ll draw you a Japanese cherry blossom one.

Client: We need our spring.

Designer: So we replace sakura with birch trees.

Or we can come up with something about streams and tree bark ships to bring back childhood memories.

Client: Yes, let’s draw the streams.

Designer: Well, something like that. It’s about March.

And April.

And there will be one about May, too.

Client: Take the log out of the stream.

Designer: OK.

Client: Nope, it still won’t do. In both cases our logo is swimming in dirty water, it looks horrible. Let’s get back to the other stream.

Designer: Let’s just get rid of streams altogether. They just don’t seem to work, really.

Client: That’s good. Remove the frost and water drops from the arrow and thin out the grass.
