SKA Arena stadium wayfinding
SKA Arena is the largest indoor ice arena in the world, accommodating 21,500 spectators for hockey games and 23,000 for concerts. It welcomed its first visitors at the end of 2023.
For this venue, we created a wayfinding system in a futuristic, space-themed style that helps fans and staff navigate the enormous space and enhances the ice-themed experience.
The design of the wayfinding is inspired by the space-themed interiors, focusing on concise information, metal and light.
A specially designed typeface with distinctive character and recognizable shapes makes the signs more noticeable and engaging.
Pictograms complement the typeface and seamlessly integrate into the rhythmic appearance of the stadium.
A detailed and user-friendly map near the arena is intriguing to look at, with its shape reminiscent of a hockey puck.
Prominent signs help fans find necessary locations such as entrances, parking, stands and seating sections.
The signs are easy to understand even without explanatory labels. They are placed at a high level, allowing them to be quickly read in the crowd.
Detailed floor maps are available in the galleries. They assist visitors in locating necessary sections, cafés, shops, escalators, restrooms or exits.
On the VIP floors, the wayfinding blends seamlessly into the intricately designed interiors.
Color coding is used in the underground parking lot, while hanging signs guide drivers to all necessary facilities at junctions.
A convenient map is also available in the parking lot, showing zones, elevators and pedestrian pathways.
A detailed guide with instructions for creating, producing and installing the signs has been prepared to facilitate the proper use and updating of wayfinding media.
