RANEPA façade type design
A new building of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) is being constructed in the center of Moscow in Basmanny District. The seven-story building is created following a modern reading of classical architectural traditions. Type design for the façades of the future building was created in the studio.
The pylons resembling book spines bear the names of great writers, poets and thinkers.
The panels covering the pylons are cast from fiberglass concrete. The letters are embossed into the surface which makes the inscriptions look three-dimensional and monumental, almost antique.
A unique design was created for each prominent name.
Project authors are listed on a discreet metal plate by the entrance.
Inspired by books and knowledge, the design emphasizes the status of the educational institution and decorates the architectural landscape of Moscow.
