Pedestrian crossing pattern
Task:
to set the nautical mood.
To make city spaces come to life, pedestrian crossings were improved with themed patterns. The patterns make use of nautical knots in their design to remind that Odessa is the country’s largest seaport.

The drawings are applied with a special acrylic paint or thermoplastic. While improving the appearance of the crossing, the patterns do not distract drivers or pedestrians.
Only the two central stripes are tied together
The rope crossings unobtrusively remind about the sea and become a memorable detail of the city landscape. They are planned to decorate some of Odessa’s quieter streets.
