Muravlenko entrance sign
Muravlenko is an Arctic city in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District, one of the youngest cities in Russia. It was founded in 1984 and named in honor of Viktor Muravlenko, a petroleum engineer and the first head of Glavtyumenneftegaz.
To celebrate the city’s anniversary, we developed an entrance sign, a dynamic art object that sets the visual language of the holiday, warmly welcoming all those entering this northern city and adding bright colors to the harsh Arctic landscape.

The stele is a collective image of the place: the colors are from the palette used to decorate the façades, while the outlines are taken from children’s drawings.

The composition is installed with an expressive offset, making it look more interesting when viewed from a passing car, while the letters illuminate each other in the dark.
