I graduated from the Institute of Architecture and a school of music (violin). As a child, I dreamed of becoming a writer and started with drawing illustrations for my own collections of works yet to be written. After that I came to work with some written by others, and several books with my illustrations were published. One of them was awarded a diploma for design at a contest held among publishing houses. The book had 48 pictures. I worked as an architect and at the same time illustrated magazines and a column by the sex columnist Olga Sergiyenko in the Bolshoi Gorod weekly. Participated in collective and personal exhibitions of various styles, most of which were secret. I learned to draw without making pencil sketches. In the studio Ive taught myself to work with vector images, but I never quit black-and-white graphics on paper, tempera and Photoshop. As far as commercial orders are concerned, I think that being thrilled with an idea is the crucial thing if you want to do a good job. The greater the interest, the quicker and better job youll do. And with a great deal of fun at that. My goal (dream) is to create illustrations and complete design for an interesting book. |
