Founded as a fortress on the river Iset in 1723, Ekaterinburg was named after Empress Catherine I (Ekaterina). Today the city is regarded as one of the most appealing in Russia for making business and building a successful career. Two hundred and ninety one years after its founding, the city received its own logo.
