Overview Process
Preparing documentation. Starting with business cards.
Client: We would like something more stylish— more space, clearer layout, and we should be able to print ads on the back of the cards.
Searching for variants.
The company has a structure which must be reflected in the business cards. The back of the cards should contain information about the company’s benefits.
Meanwhile, the client sends us his variants. Studying them carefully and explaining the mistakes.
This layout won't work for anyone—the text column is too narrow, long names won’t fit.
Left-alignment is better, but the two-column layout doesn’t serve the purpose for the same reason.
Two-columns again, and the important information is printed in too small a type.
After much discussion, we reach a compromise.
Done!
At the same time, working on letterheads, envelopes and folders.
Typesetting presentation templates.
Submitting the files to the client, studying how the company implements the new design, providing recommendations for improvement. The biggest mistake is trying to put too much text on one slide.
Getting to the most interesting part: delivery and acceptance certificates, bill of landing, bill of staying, notice of delivery, shipment request, etc. For starters, studying the existing letterheads and asking questions.
All forms look completely different. Bringing them all to a common layout: setting the rules for applying the grid to the forms, specifying places for the logo, address and headers.
Designing a receipt tape and courier envelope.
