Single-origin coffee: Brazil Kenya
Overview Process
Getting the task: to create stickers for the packaging of new single-origin coffee.
Drawing illustrations for Kenya and Brazil, designing the stickers similar to the ones we created before.
The art director asks to change the background.
We also need to fix the mistake in the flag of Kenya and in the name of Brazil to make или more legible. Slightly adjusting alignment, kerning and spacing, showing to the art director.
Everything’s OK. Ordering color proofs at a print shop.
The color proofs come back to reveal unprecedented mistakes in typesetting. Correcting pictures making sure the flags are aligned along the edges of the same text blocks and that tentacle fingers don’t touch other text blocks. Changing the color of the main text to white (it was cream before) to increase legibility while the chief typesetter advises to work on kerning of the word Кени я. Finally, making stripes in the background warmer.
