Copycat typeface
Task: to create a display typeface.
Copycat is a spectacular display typeface with reverse contrast.
The face comes in two styles: regular and italic.
The word copycat means an imitator or a simulator. The typeface imitates the Tamil and Sinhala languages, but does it superficially and not seriously.
An example from Wikipedia
Rotating the letters, increasing their size and typing random characters can create a nice pattern. It demonstrates the idea behind the typeface: something related to the Sinhala language, obscure but very beautiful.
Some of the characters from the Sinhala language became typeface ornaments.
If you want, you add tails to the letters and cover them with stars.
Or draw eyes and ears.
