The project, called Don Quixote and Design: Fine Art in Everyday Life, was launched by the Cervantes Institue and Mezonin magazine to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the first publication of Miguel Cervantess famous novel. Designers and artists were asked to develop functional products deriving inspiration from Cervantes s novel. Don Quixote and his other characters were meant to turn into useful everyday objects (they didn t encourage the creation of statues). Fan Quixote prototype was created specially for the exhibition. |
